Retreat Day 7: Ketheric/Causal Body
60 minutes
•
1h 6m
This 60 minute practice leads us into the outermost layer of our energy, the ketheric, or causal, body (the spiritual reflection of the mental body). This level both nourishes us with a constant circulation of life force and protects us, acting both as a boundary and as healing protection. We work with our connection to the broader “oneness” and in finding our own serenity through the practice, ending with headstands to stimulate the crown chakra. Props needed: block to sit on; wall if you want it for headstands. If you’d like to listen to some song versions of the Kundalini chanting meditation we did, here are a few I like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8wIeXG7VQ4, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loiDgMo28K4, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjjD-ScI_1E. And, finally, the journal questions! 1) What facilitates your serenity? (Describe.) 2) What blocks your serenity? (Describe.) 3) What three promises do you want to make to yourself as a result of this work?
(And here’s the complete poem we started with, just because it is so beautiful and you might want to reference it later!)
“On the other side,” by Danna Faulds:
I put all my conditioning aside
for one glorious instant and slide
through the eye of the needle,
threading it with light. On the
otherwise there is no portal
for return, but I don’t even
think about that. Cutting the
cord, I dance as I never dared i
in that other world, dance as if I
am loosed from gravity and
delivered into the arms of
jubilation. Reveling, merging,
spiraling inward or out, down
or up, alive and wild, I am
freed even from what I believed
freedom would be.
