Retreat Day 2: Emotional Body
60 minutes
•
1h 4m
This is a 60 minute hip-oriented practice. We start with a reading from Danna Faulds and sit with our emotions. Through our practice, we agitate ourselves and get used to the idea of being uncomfortable, so that being comfortable with being uncomfortable becomes second nature. We work through some figure 4, pigeon, and lotus variations, and end with a meditation that supports, heals, and integrates our traumas that have been serving as triggers. Props needed: one block or blanket or pillow to be used under us in a few asanas. Journal questions for today: 1) What emotional patterns do you have? 2) How can you process and support yourself when one of these emotional patterns is triggered? 3) What does the integration of allowing those emotions to be present look like?
