The Katonah metaphor for yoga is that hatha (physical) yoga is origami for the body, and specifically, the creation of a cup (after practice extra credit: https://www.origamiway.com/origami-cup.shtml). The pranayama (breath work) is the filling of the cup, and the meditation is the drinking of the water. All three work together to fully rejuvenate us. Today's practice incorporates all three: folding in the hip joint is the main focus of the physical practice, including practicing of the Katonah crow. Then we move into some seated breath work and finally to a wall for a 10 minute meditation. This is a physically challenging practice but one that is designed to fill your cup back up. You will finish feeling ready for whatever you need to do next. Suggested props: blocks, blanket, strap, wall
